The event drew the interest of more than 50 athletes, all having the mindset and goal of earning a place on the opening day roster. This determination and drive led to a great display of talent and skill throughout the tryout process.
Both evaluation days were led by the Cedar Stars Rush technical and front office staff, which included General Manager Justin Miller, Technical Director Juan Santamaria and Head Coach Anthony Nixon.
“A lot of talented players on show,” Nixon said during the second day of tryouts. “We’ve seen some high-quality goals (and) some high-quality play from over 50 players that we’ve seen here at the tryouts.”
With the first step in the process now complete, Cedar Stars Rush will begin to build out its roster for the inaugural season within the League Two Mid Atlantic Division.
All roster signings, as well as announcements of future tryout dates, will be shared via the club’s website and social media accounts over the coming weeks.
