Cedar Stars Rush come up short in rain soaked match vs Reading United AC

CEDAR STARS RUSH FALL TO READING UNITED AC, 1-0, IN A HARD FOUGHT BATTLE THROUGH EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS.

Teaneck, NJ (May 28, 2019) - Cedar Stars Rush took on last year’s League Two runner-ups Reading United AC in an Eastern Conference clash on Tuesday.

Reading United AC forward Kalil El Medkhar #14 scored the opening goal in the 17th minute on a cross from Goncalo Garcia #9. Reading United AC had the momentum going into the first half with a 4 to 1 shot advantage and a majority of the possession.

The second half began much differently though, as Cedar Stars Rush pushed the tempo and tried to find an equalizer before the referees decided to delay the game in the 68th minute due to lightning. Both teams headed back to the locker room to wait for the storm to pass.

After the break, Reading United AC were able to crush the momentum Cedar Stars Rush had created prior to the delay. In the final twenty plus minutes, Cedar Stars Rush were unable to break Reading’s defense, and dropped the contest 1-0.

The Cedar Stars Rush head back to the pitch on Wednesday June 5th at 7:30 PM looking to pick up their second win of the season against the Ocean City Nor’easters at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ.
